SPECIAL RITUALS AND NOTES ON TANTRIC SEX

CONTRACEPTION

Because the primary Tantric teachings are designed to heighten sexual response and sex enjoyment , the use of contraceptive methods is endorsed. Sexual pleasure and energy have a Tantric purpose are procreative only when desired.
The teachings include several specialized exercises, centered around the Control Rituals, for use as contraceptive methods. These include the highly touted system of actually directing the male semen into the bladder on ejaculation, rather than permitting it to pass normally through the urethra. But some medical opinion holds that this, over a prolonged period of time, may have dangerous side effects. For that reason, it is not included in this book.
Additionally, Tantric Yoga has a series of Yoga sexual positions developed to "lover the probability of conception." But they are far from foolproof and right fully belonging in a book on Tantric Yoga rather than here.
Interpreted in the light of modern medical and psychological knowledge, Tantric teachings would endorse the use of any form of contraception, be it the Pill or mechanical means, such as a diaphragm or sheath.
If mechanical contraception is used, it should be made a part of the ritual of lovemaking.
The placing of the sheath on the penis by the Male's partner can be a very erotic part of the ritual of sex. So, too, can placing of the diaphragm into the vagina, or the insertion of contraceptive creams or gels.
The couple's feelings about contraception should be a part of the communication about sex which the Tantra so strongly advocates.
