COUPLES' RITUALS: THE SEVEN NIGHTS OF THE TANTRA

The Seven Nights of the Tantra are the classic rituals of Tantric study.  First, through the senses  of your partner, you will develop a new Awareness of your own sexuality as well as  a new Awareness of your partner.  And in the process of this new Awareness you will learn to overcome false modesty and inhibitions, and experience new openness and honesty in sex.
Then the nights becomes Nights of Control.  These Rituals not only bring Control itself, but also develop a deep communication between the Male and the Female as they strive together to reach new plateaus of ecstasy.
If possible, the rituals of the Seven Nights of the Tantra should be done on seven consecutive nights. However, this is not essential. They could be done every other night for two weeks or over an even longer period. But for the results, they should be done in as short a time span as possible. And they must be done in the order set forth.
What if, on a given Night of the Tantra, control is lost and orgasm occurs?  What happens then?
In such a case which does happen the best solution is to stop the ritual and invoke the One-Hour Rule. After waiting an hour, begin the ritual again, from the beginning.
If you are not happy with the way one night's ritual has gone, you may repeat it the following night.
One of the primary objects in these Rituals is to form a bond of uninhibited commitment and communication between the partners.  You should read together the Rituals' instruction before beginning, and discuss every aspect of them.
Ecstasy itself, heightened enjoyment of love through sexual expression, is achieved in the Seven Nights of the Tantra. The ever present goal of increased power through Channeling is also a part of each night's ritual.
The One-Hour Rule, emphasized again and again, is observed in the Seven Nights. During this one hour of extremely heightened sexual energy the channeling process is most effective.  This hour now becomes  part of the ritual itself, adding not only to the power of Channeling, but further heightening Awareness, control, and pleasure.
The rituals themselves should be followed  explicitly.  Some portions will be more difficult than others. The meaning and purpose of some of the instruction may not be immediately obvious, but they should be followed precisely if they are to accomplish their purpose.
Do not ignore or "skip over" even the most basic instruction. Between couples there is  often a reaction of "But I know what I look  like"  or "We've  done something like this before; let's do it our way." These are the pitfalls the Tantric texts warn against. One of the oldest texts says: "Let the man or woman who knows, teach; let those who have not reached the highest plateau, learn."
            The meaning is clear.
It is essential that you master the basic Female and Male Rituals before  beginning the Couples' ritual.  The developers of the Tantra, being as human  as we are, were aware that the student of Tantra would desire to "rush" the basic  Male and Female  Rituals in order to get to the couples  Rituals.  For this reason, repetition of the basic  Rituals is included as a part of the Couples  Rituals. A most important part.
In "sharing" the basic Rituals the couples will reach a deeper Awareness and understanding of each other. Simultaneously, all inhibitions about your own or your partner's body or sexuality will be overcome.

The Food

During these nights the Tantric texts recommend certain foods. All the texts refer to the couple having "cheese, wine, and bread" within reach,  prepared prior to the beginning of each evening. Just why these three items of food, the texts do not explain.  Probably simply because of their easy availability, and rather universal appeal.  Being realistic, the repast during that hour might just  as well be champagne and caviar, or beer and pretzels. This is one of the few areas where the Tantric can make his and her own decisions.

The Lights

The lighting in the rooms used for the Couple Exercises is very important.
The Tantric texts specify "a place with four lanterns lit if daylight be absent." This can be interpreted in modern sexual terms as "at least two lamps, with a  minimum of sixty-watts each."
In the Meeting Room with the low table, where the Couples Rituals begin, the lamps may be placed a bit away from the table, with one or more candles on the table itself. Even in the Meeting Room the sense of sight plays an important part, so the  lamps must be on.
In the bedroom, the  sense of sight is extremely important.  At least two sixty-watt lamps must be on, preferably one on a small table at the head of the bed and the second on a table at the foot of the bed.
However, it is done, the lights must not be put out. Remember:  "Tantra  abhors darkness."
Now enter into the cult of Ecstasy with anticipation  of the pleasure in store for you.
