THE MEANING OF TANTRIC SEX

THE MANTRA

A mantra is a special sound, usually without meaning, which is used in Tantric rituals to trigger mental images (yantras), emotions, or controls. It is a vital part of the conditioning process of the rituals.
The classic mantric sound is "om the sound of enlightenment." The earliest Tantric Masters were aware that even the most heavy and dense objects in our physical world are actually "vibrating substances," (the movement of atoms and molecules). Similarly, the structure of all life forms is based on a "vibrating rhythm."
The mantra puts the mind in tune with the vibrations, operating on their frequencies, to open the body's chakras, the natural orifices through which all psychic energy flows. The mantric sounds can condition the body, mind, and emotions to respond involuntarily to stimulate or control even the most basic emotions, thought patterns, or bodily sexual functions .
The mantras are used in conjunction with the yantras (visual images). They are chanted or whispered or repeated silently to oneself during the Tantric rituals. They may be "written" on the visualization of imagery called the yantra. The "conditioning" thus uses both the senses of sight and sound.
Anyone who has studied behavioral psychology knows the story of Pavlov, who rang a bell when he fed his dogs, and after a while, whenever the bell was rung the dogs would salivate. This is conditioning at its most basic. Tantric conditioning is more complex, but it is; nonetheless a conditioning process.
By consciously using the mantras together with physical stimuli and controls, you create a "trigger" that will cause a subconscious reaction which you would not otherwise be able to control. In modem psychological terms, the role of the mantra in Tantric ritual is to condition your sexual energy so you can control it, rather than have it control you.
Though Tantric mantras have no obvious meaning, they do follow a specified form, usually ending in a nasal humming, most often the "---omm" or "---ahm" sounds.
The Tantric masters teach that the sounds of the mantras set up energy fields, creating vibrations in patterns that can be controlled.
The rituals contained in this book use three mantras:
            The mantra of Awareness
            The mantra of Control
            The mantra of Channeling
Each will be introduced at the beginning of the appropriate rituals.
They should be memorized and practiced only in conjunction with the rituals in which they serve a specific purpose.
